1999 to 2001
Contractor
Maxim Group, at Wells Fargo Trust Operations. Application programmer and
web developer. Most recent project was a web application for tracking and
scheduling foreign tax reclaims, using ASP, SQL Server 7.0, Data
Transformations Services (DTS), VBScript, JavaScript, Crystal Reports,
Microsoft Collaboration Data Objects (CDO), Windows 2000, and IIS 5.0. A
unique feature was the application's "proactive" use of Email to notify tax
specialists of pending reclaims, rather than requiring that they remember to
run their reports on time. Used VB, SQL Server, Access, ADO, COM, and DB2
to develop several other applications, including "screen scrapers", a DB for
tracking class action lawsuits involving client securities, and automatic
management trend report distribution using Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft
Collaboration Data Objects to distribute daily reports via Email.
1994 to 1999
Contractor Many short term RAD projects, including developing a wireless
prescription entry system for doctors at a major HMO, using Visual Basic to
quickly enter, validate, and transmit MS Access records from the doctors'
notebook computers over a wireless LAN to the in-clinic pharmacy. Also
developed a records management system for a major bank using Visual Basic and
Microsoft Access
Created several Intranet and Internet web sites utilizing the following: MS
Internet Information Server, Active Server Pages, ADO, SQL Server,
Microsoft Access, HTML, Cascading
Style Sheets, Microsoft Agent, etc.
Websites include the PBS Business Channel's Y2K site, featuring several
interactive Y2K preparedness exams developed with JavaScript; and FantaSuite
Hotels ( www.fantasuite.com ) - a data
driven dynamic website using Microsoft Access and Active Server Pages.
1991 to 1996
Independent Software Developer Developed commercial MS Windows
multimedia applications in Visual Basic, MS Access, and C, including complete
SETUP programs, HELP files, and manuals. One program, SoundWAV PRO, has been
reviewed twice in PC Magazine. Products include Animal Fun, an educational
program with extensive audio narration and sound effects, and the KTEL All
Music Guide: BLUES EDITION CD-ROM. This was a hybrid CD containing CD Audio of
13 classic blues songs, a player program, videos (AVI files) of musician
interviews, and a MS Access database with over 25,000 song titles, all
accessible from the program's “living room” social interface.
1988 to 1991
LAN Installer/Administrator Consultant at CSC Partners, assigned to a
Fortune 500 company. Responsible for all file server installation, maintenance,
and administration on a 25 server, 700 user Novell network. Added/maintained
user accounts, installed applications, wrote menus, developed C utilities using
Novell's NetWare C Library for DOS. Created standards for all PC LANS at
company headquarters and at the company's worldwide locations. Primary or
secondary support person for WordPerfect, Lotus 123, Harvard Graphics, Windows,
Excel, dBase, PC Anywhere, and others. Lead a major conversion to Microsoft
Windows. Developed training courses, manuals, and taught "Introduction To
NetWare", "Supervisor's Guide To NetWare", "Introduction To Carbon Copy", and
"Introduction To NETREMOTE".
1985 to 1988
Programmer/Operator for Kelly Enterprises, on an IBM SYS/36. Developed,
maintained, and modified RPG II programs. Supervised data entry for GL, AR, AP,
and PAYROLL for parent company and several subsidiaries. Total responsibility
for installing and operating DMAS (a SYS/36 integrated accounting system).
Installed PC systems at remote sites and wrote communication scripts for
automated transfer of data between locations.
